‘Leacock Chairs’ recognize celebrated author Stephen Leacock and this project celebrated the 100th

anniversary of his book ‘Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town’. The 50 metal chairs were modelled after

Leacock’s favorite reading and writing chair, on display at the Leacock Museum in Orillia. Many of our

Chair artists gave a nod Leacock’s ’Mariposa’ and the wonders of life in a small town.
